Cat Cafe Remains Open Lviv

In the midst of fighting in Ukraine, CNN’s Erin Burnett tweeted: “It is a dark and heavy day here. But I found something that couldn’t stop a smile. The only food I saw open – Cat Cafe. The owners are making food with what they have – they smiled: ‘Our cats are brave.’”
The Washington Post reported that families were fleeing the Russian invasion with their cats and dogs.
As sirens rang out amid Russia’s assault on Ukrainian cities Thursday, scores were forced to flee their homes. Some held their children in their arms, while others clutched their beloved pets — the cats and dogs they could not leave behind amid the barrage of attacks coming from Russia.
With regard to Maine Coons, Russia is one of the biggest breeders with many in America importing their kittens whose Lynx tips and size often are large than domestic varieties.

Because of sanctions on Russia imposed by the United States and allies, those with orders in place or who are planning such orders should check with trade authorities to see what, if anything, can be done.
The White House has released a fact sheet on trade restrictions imposed on Russia, including the banking use of the SWIFT system used for international monetary transactions.
