My Mom is asleep
And Siggy won’t play
So I snuck in this hat
On that miserable day
I sat there awaiting
Something to do
And I said to myself
I will try not to poo
In straw of the bonnet
That smells of my Mom
I won’t play with my toys
Being totally calm
Cause I’m a Maine Coon
Not a poodle or pug
Who can sit! sit! sit!
And obey on the rug
Where I dig in my nails
So the fabric might fray
I have nothing to do
Because Siggy won’t play
In our tree stand and shelf
Knocking all of Mom’s stuff
To the floor with a crash.
And if that’s not enough
We could chew on her plants
And throw up or achoo
On the snacks by her chair
Oh, the things we could do!
But nothing is stirring
And I’m not a brat
So I’ll lie and pretend
I’m The Cat in the Hat.
